Pediatric Dentistry

As our name implies The Center For Cosmetic & Family Dentistry of
The Woodlands welcomes all members of your family regardless of
age. For your young ones, it's never too early to learn proper dental
care. Should you have specific concerns about your children's care,
please ask one of our staff or your dentist for more information.

Prevention begins with brushing and flossing

The key to preventing tooth decay and plaque build up is proper
brushing technique. Practice with your children at home and help
them stick with it. They will reap the rewards of good dental health
later in life.

Brushing is a good way to prevent cavities, but flossing is just as
important! Most cavities start between your teeth, where the bristles
of your toothbrush simply can't reach. To keep your gums and teeth
healthy, you must use dental floss. Show your kids how to wrap a
length of floss around two fingertips and gently work it back and forth
and up and down between upper and lower teeth.

Infant dental care

As soon as your child gets his first teeth, you should begin cleaning
them after feedings with a moist gauze pad or washcloth. When your
child is comfortable with a toothbrush, brush his teeth twice a day
with an extra-soft toothbrush.
